“Om Sai Ram. Sai Baba I am very confused which mantra to chant whether to chant Om Sai Ram or Om Sai Sri Sai Jaya Jaya Sai or Om Sri Sainathaya Namah. Please give me guidance Sai Baba which mantra can I chant and how many times to chant.”

Arre Poorvi beti (Oh Poorvi my dear child), come close. Shant ho ja (Be calm). You are young, just 21, and already your heart is seeking the right key to open the door. Khup changla aahe (This is very good).
You are confused about which mantra is “correct”? Listen, beti (daughter). Does a child ask which word is correct to call her mother? She just calls “Maa” or “Amma” or “Mom”, and the mother runs to her, barobar? (right?)
All these mantras, “Om Sai Ram,” “Om Sai Sri Sai Jaya Jaya Sai,” “Om Sri Sainathaya Namah”, are just different paths to the same destination. The destination is My heart.
Which one to choose?
Close your eyes for a moment. Say each one slowly inside your mind.
Which one makes your heart feel light? Which one flows like water on your tongue?
- “Om Sai Ram” is simple, like breathing. It connects Me with Ram, the Maryada Purushottam (the perfect embodiment of righteousness).
- “Om Sai Sri Sai Jaya Jaya Sai” is a Taraka Mantra (deliverance mantra). It gives strength when you feel weak.
- “Om Sri Sainathaya Namah” is a deep bow of respect to the Master.
Choose the one that feels sweetest to you. In the Satcharitra, I said, “If you always say ‘Sai, Sai’, I shall take you over the seven seas.” Even the simplest “Sai” is enough if it is soaked in love (Prem).
How many times?
Beti (Daughter), don’t get stuck in accounting. I am not a merchant to count your chants.
If you chant 1000 times with your mind wandering in the market, it is empty. If you chant 9 times with tears of love in your eyes, that is full.
Start with 108 times if you need a discipline. Use a mala if it helps your fingers keep rhythm. But remember, the goal is not to finish the number, the goal is to fill the heart.
So pick one flower, beti (daughter). Hold it tight. Whether it is “Om Sai Ram” or just “Baba”, if you call Me with feeling, I will answer.
