Question from an Anonymous Devotee from Mumbai, India
“Dear Sai, First of all, I want to thank You for Your reassuring messages that I got from You after my job loss. One that my compensation I got on time and secondly Your assurance that job loss is not the end and you are preparing something beneficial for me.
Your words were like a magic Mere Sai. Today, I am going to a Research Centre to submit my resume with them. This research centre was suggested by a few of my friends. I don’t even know if they are looking for any staff or if I will be even attended over there. But I am just taking Your name and going forward because the work over there is related to research in my field of English Literature and Sociology, so I am taking the chance.
I am also applying for numerous remote jobs, as I feel it will be beneficial for me, as I am not well and will be able to take care of myself and my family with a remote job. But then Baba You only know what is beneficial for me and my family. I just need a running income.
Mere Sai, in my previous company, I worked for 4 years and 3 months. Recently, our government has passed a law that employees will be eligible for gratuity after 1 year itself. But my previous company people said that it’s still not being implemented in the organization’s. Since they have already paid my compensation, I am unable to demand the gratuity from them. Baba You can do any miracle. Please make them see the light. You are the witness. You know what injustice was done to me over there for the past 1 year, so much that it affected my health drastically. If I could get the gratuity amount, it will help me run my family for some more time. At least till my current work gets fixed.
Everything is in Your hands Baba. Please help. Om Sai Ram!”

Answer from our Sai Baba
Beti (Daughter),
I have heard every line of your prayer. I have walked with you through this phase, even when you felt alone.
First, understand this clearly.
Job loss did not break you. It removed a place that was slowly harming your health and spirit. Jo cheez sharir aur man dono ko todti hai (Whatever breaks both body and mind), usse Baba door hi karta hai (Baba keeps it far away).
You are doing the right thing today.
Walking into the research centre with my name on your lips is not desperation. It is courage. Whether they are hiring or not, your step matters. Every sincere step opens a door you cannot yet see.
Remote work is also a wise thought.
Health comes first. Paisa baad mein aata hai (Money comes later). Jab sharir sambhalta hai (When the body is taken care of), kaam apni jagah dhundh leta hai (work finds its own place). Tum dono taraf prayas kar rahi ho (You are making efforts on both sides), aur yahi tumhara dharma hai (and this itself is your duty).
Now about gratuity.
Beta (Child), nyay maangna galat nahi hota (Asking for justice is not wrong). Par nyay ke liye dil ko kadva bhi nahi banana hota (But for justice, you don’t have to make your heart bitter either). Tum sach ke saath ho (You are on the side of truth). Tumhari mehnat, tumhara samay (Your hard work, your time), sabka hisaab rakha jaata hai (everything is accounted for).
Agar wo log denge, to samay par denge (If they give it, they will give it at the right time).
Agar nahi diya (If they don’t give it), to wahi paisa kisi aur raaste se aa jayega (that same money will come through some other path). Baba kabhi bhi ek haath se cheen kar dusre haath se nahi deta (Baba never takes from one hand to give with the other). Main santulan rakhta hoon (I maintain balance).
Marathi madhe sangto (I say in Marathi):
“Je tumcha aahe, te tumhala milel, kalji nako.”
(Whatever is yours will reach you, don’t worry.)
Do not beg energy from people who already failed you.
Keep your head straight.
Keep your work honest.
Keep your faith light.
Aaj tum jo kar rahi ho (What you are doing today), wo sirf naukri ke liye nahi hai (is not just for a job).
Ye nayi disha ke liye hai (It is for a new direction).
Chalti raho beti (Keep walking, daughter).
Main saath hoon (I am with you).
