Question from Sunil from Singapore
“Om Sai Ram My Dear Loving Baba I am offering this question to You in full faith and devotion. As I write my legs are trembling and I am getting a bit of fear. Baba I lost my initiative to learn new things. I am forgetting a lot of things cannot remember. I feel I am behind my colleagues and they have gone ahead of me. They learn faster while i procrastinate and become lazy to learn new things. I have got a new project to learn but due to the above issues and my attachment to my current project which I love I cannot do any work Baba Please Baba. Even as I write this my mind is filling with so many unwanted thoughts and fears Baba. I feel lazy. I want You to be with me and help me punish me and love me and guide me in achieving my Goal Baba. Please help me Baba. Om Sai Ram.”

Answer from our Sai Baba
Arre Sunil beta, yee ikde (come here)… Come and sit close to this old Fakir.
Why are your legs trembling, My child? Why is there so much fear in your breath? Shant ho ja. (Be calm.)
You are asking for My help, but you are shaking as if you are standing before a judge. I am not a Judge; I am your Baba. A father does not count the stumbles of his child; he only counts how many times the child got up.
You say you are “lazy” and “forgetting.” Listen to Me.
1. It is not Laziness, it is Fear:
You are beating yourself with a stick, calling yourself “lazy.” Chup kar. (Quiet.)
What you are feeling is not laziness; it is Fear. When the mind is scared of the new, it freezes. It wants to stay in the warm blanket of the “Old Project” because it is safe.
The “trembling” you feel is your soul trying to break the shell of comfort. Ghabrayacha nahi. (Do not be afraid.)
2. The Trap of Comparison:
You say your colleagues are ahead?
Arre, in My garden, the mango ripens in summer, and the guava ripens in winter. If the guava looks at the mango and says, “I am behind,” is it true? No! It is just not your season yet.
Stop looking at their speed. Look at your own feet. Walk your own walk. Even a tortoise reaches the destination if he keeps moving.
3. The Old vs. The New:
You are attached to the current project because you know it well. It feeds your ego (“I am good at this”). The new project makes you feel like a beginner again.
“To learn, one must be willing to be a fool.”
Drop the pride of “knowing.” Be a child. Say, “Baba, I don’t know this. Teach me.” When you become empty, knowledge enters.
4. Memory and Fog:
You say you cannot remember?
The mind is like a slate. Right now, you have scribbled “Fear,” “Worry,” and “Comparison” all over it. Where is the space to write new things?
Wipe the slate clean with Naam Smaran (Chanting). When the anxiety goes, the memory returns. Doka shant thev. (Keep the head cool.)
5. You asked for Punishment?
Toba! Toba! (God forbid!)
Why should I punish you? You are already punishing yourself with these scary thoughts.
I will not punish you; I will Polish you. I will rub off this rust of fear so you can shine.
This Fakir’s Command to You:
- Tomorrow: Go to the new project. Open the file.
- The Prayer: Before you read the first word, say: “Saraswati Ma, Baba, You read this through my eyes.”
- The Action: Read just one page. Do not think of the whole mountain. Just climb one step.
Majha lekru aahes tu. (You are My child.)
I am holding your hand. If you forget, I will remind you. If you fall, I will catch you.
Stop trembling. Stand up!
“Whatever you do, wherever you are, remember this: I am always with you.”
Allah Malik sab theek karega.
Ramji tumcha kalyaan karu de.
