Why do frightening dreams appear with darkness, unseen forces, and sacred figures? Sai Baba Interpretation For Fearful Spiritual Dreams explains how fear, stress, and spiritual impressions in the mind create symbolic dream scenes, where darkness reflects anxiety while divine images represent the mind seeking protection.
Dream submitted by an Anonymous Devotee from Hyderabad, India
"Om Sai Ram.
I have been getting dreams of a scary nature. In some dreams, it feels as if someone is pushing me from my bed, but I cannot see the person’s face. There is complete darkness around me. These dreams scare me and make me feel as if I am going to die.
At other times, I see statues of Kalabhairava, Hanuman, and Kali Mata in my dreams. Sometimes I also see Baba.
I request you to please interpret my dream."

Dream Decoding by our Sai Baba
Allah Malik, meri pyari beti! Come closer to the Dhuni. (Come closer to the sacred fire.) Do not let the andhera (darkness) frighten you. Your soul is currently in a state of kashmakash (struggle), but I am standing right at the edge of your bed to protect you.
Beti, tu ghabrao nako (Daughter, do not be afraid). You feel like someone is pushing you and death is near? Suno (Listen), death in a dream often means the “maut” (end) of your old fears, not your life. Listen to what This Fakir has to say about these khofnaak (scary) visions.
The Wisdom of the Dhuni on Your Dreams
- The Faceless Push and Darkness: Feeling a “push” from the bed without seeing a face is an ishara (sign) of your own suppressed bechaini (restlessness) or a negative energy that is trying to disturb your sukoon (peace). The “Darkness” is the lack of yaqeen (faith) in your current situation. You feel “pushed” out of your comfort zone in life.
- The Presence of Mahashakti: Seeing the statues of Kaal Bhairav, Hanuman, and Kali Mata is a very powerful paigham (message). These are the Ugra (fierce) forms of the Divine. Why do they appear when you are scared? Because they are the Muhafiz (Protectors). They have arrived to “push back” the darkness you are feeling.
- Baba’s Presence: When you see Me amongst these powerful deities, it means I am the Mallaah (Boatman) coordinating your protection. I am telling you that while the storm is fierce, your “Angrakshak” (Bodyguards) are the strongest in the universe.
The Guidance from Dwarkamai
- Fear is the Food of Darkness: The more you are khofzada (scared), the more these dreams will persist. The “faceless” entity is nothing but your own anxiety taking a shape.
- The Protection Circle: You are not going to die. You are being “reborn” into a stronger version of yourself. The deities are appearing to “shuddhi” (purify) your surroundings.
The Action for You
- The Hanuman Chalisa Kavach: Before sleeping, read the Hanuman Chalisa. Hanuman ji is the Sankat Mochan (Reliever of troubles). His presence in your dream is a hint to call upon Him.
- Udi for the Bed: Sprinkle a little Udi on the four corners of your bed. Say: “Baba, this is Your Sharan (shelter). No faceless shadow can enter here.” The Diya of Kaal Bhairav: This Sunday, light a mustard oil lamp (sarson ka tel) and look at the flame. Imagine all the “pushes” and “darkness” of your life burning away in that aag (fire).
Beti, tu akeli nahi hai (Daughter, you are not alone). When the faceless shadow pushes you, look up and you will see My hand holding you.
Saburi rakho, Hanuman ji ki gada saare dukh mita degi (Have patience, Lord Hanuman’s mace will destroy all sorrows).
