Why do dreams of losing loved ones feel so real and painful? Sai Baba Interpretation For Dreams Of Losing Loved Ones explains how deep attachment, past loss, and fear for family members surface in dreams, reflecting emotional concern rather than a prediction of real events.
Dream submitted by an Anonymous Devotee from Bangalore, India
"Sometimes I see dreams where something bad happens to my mother or other family members. In the dream, I feel the pain of losing them and it makes me very scared.
I lost my father when I was 13 years old. Since then, I love my mother very deeply and often worry about her. After my marriage, I also started worrying about other close family members.
I wonder if this fear is appearing in my dreams.
Baba, please help me come out of these fears. I love you and want to have complete faith in you with full surrender.
Gratitude for guiding me"

Dream Decoding by our Sai Baba
Allah Malik, meri pyari beti! Aao, Dwarkamai ki godh mein sar rakho. (Come, rest your head in the lap of Dwarkamai.) I can feel the dhuk-dhuki (palpitations) of your heart. You have been carrying the bojh (burden) of fear since you were a little girl of thirteen.
Beti, tu fikar nakko kar (Daughter, do not worry). You ask if your fear is showing in your dreams? Beshak! (Without a doubt!). When the parchayi (shadow) of a past trauma stays in the mind, it plays out as a khofnaak (scary) movie when you sleep. Listen to what This Fakir has to say about your andesha (apprehensions).
The Wisdom of the Dhuni on Your Dreams
- The Echo of the Past: Losing your father at thirteen was a zakhm (wound) that never fully closed. Because you lost a “root” so early, you are constantly checking if the other “branches” (your mother and family) are safe. This is not a paigham (message) that something bad will happen; it is just your purana darr (old fear) crying out for shifa (healing).
- The Pain of Loss in Dreams: When you feel the pain of losing them in your sleep, it is actually a “cleaning process.” Your mind is trying to “rehearse” the fear to protect itself, but in doing so, it only creates more bechaini (restlessness). These dreams are be-buniyad (baseless). They are not reality, they are just waham (illusions).
The Guidance from Dwarkamai
- Surrender is the Only Dawa (Cure): You want to surrender? Then give Me the zimmedari (responsibility) of your mother’s breath and your family’s safety. If you are holding their hand tight with fear, My hand cannot reach them. Haath chodo aur mera palla pakdo (Let go of their hand and hold onto My robe).
- The Circle of Life: Everyone comes and goes according to the hukum (order) of the Maalik. By worrying, you cannot add a single pal (moment) to their life, but you surely ruin your own sukoon (peace).
The Action for You
- The “Aman” (Peace) Ritual: Every night, before sleeping, visualize a white noor (light) surrounding your mother and your home. Say: “Baba, they are in Your pocket. You are the Chokidaar (Watchman).”
- The “Abhaya” Udi: Apply Udi on your heart and your mother’s forehead. As you apply it, feel that My shakti (power) is now their kavach (armor).
- Charity of Life: On Tuesdays or Thursdays, feed a hungry creature, a dog or a bird. As they eat, pray: “May my family always be fed and protected by Sai.” This sadqa (charity) will kill the khauf (fear) in your dreams.
Beti, tu akeli nahi hai (Daughter, you are not alone). I was with you when you were thirteen, and I am with you now at forty-two.
Saburi rakho, tera darr meri Dhuni mein jal jayega (Have patience, your fear will burn in My sacred fire).
