I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022. I went through a year of surgeries, scans, chemotherapy, and radiation, and I am now on 7–10 years of hormonal therapy. As part of post-treatment care, I am required to go for a yearly mammogram. The first two years, everything was clear. This year, however, my mammogram was slightly different. I underwent a contrast-enhanced mammography, where a liquid dye is injected into the vein to help detect abnormalities more clearly on the mammogram.
When I went to collect my results, I was informed that something suspicious about 7mm in diameter had been found in the same breast but in a different area. The doctors recommended a contrast-enhanced breast biopsy to collect tissue samples and determine whether it was benign or cancerous.
Before I was given the appointment, I kept praying to Baba, saying, “It’s in Baba’s hands only.” A few days before the appointment, I prayed, “Baba, I don’t want to go through this biopsy. It’s painful and uncomfortable. Reham Baba… Reham Baba… Reham Baba… forgive me for my mistakes.” I was listening to Sai Dhun on YouTube all day. The day before the scheduled procedure, I intended to listen to my assigned chapter through Sai Audio Books on YouTube. I usually use my earpods because I enjoy the stereo sound, but strangely, the audio wouldn’t connect to the earpods and kept playing through the phone speaker. I didn’t want that, as I prefer to listen in private. After trying 4–5 times without success, I realized Baba perhaps wanted me to read the chapter myself. My chapter for the day was Chapter 13. I accepted this as Baba’s will and read it with full Shraddha and Saburi.
The next day, I went for my procedure, extremely anxious and nervous. The nurse prepped me, and the doctor came in to speak with me. I requested the maximum anesthetic allowed as I didn’t want to feel anything. Inside the procedure room, there were three doctors and two nurses. I had to lie down on my side while they positioned my breast properly using the mammogram machine. They were preparing to inject the contrast dye into my veins to locate the suspicious area. About 20 minutes had already passed. I kept visualizing Baba’s image and continuously repeated Sai’s name, saying, “Baba, You are the Doctor of all doctors.”
Less than a minute after I said that, the lights were turned on, and I was told to sit up. The head doctor came in and told me they couldn’t find anything and had therefore called off the biopsy.
It was Baba’s miracle. I cried and thanked Baba from the bottom of my heart.
