Are you stuck in ophthalmology despite disinterest and fear about your future? Sai Baba Guidance For Ophthalmology Career Path improves clarity when branch allocation feels forced and career purpose seems unclear.
Question from an Anonymous Devotee from Karimnagar, India
"Why am I put in this branch (ophthalmology) despite my hatred towards it? Why am I pursuing this? Do I have a future in this? Is it helpful or does it boost my career in any way, Baba?"

Answer from our Sai Baba
Beti, read this slowly and honestly, without judging yourself.
What you are feeling is conflict between the mind and the path, not failure. Many people land in a branch they did not dream of, and the pain comes from asking, “Why me?” instead of “What can I do with this?”
Jab man aur raasta alag ho jaate, dukh hota (when the mind and the path separate, pain arises)
Now listen carefully.
You are not in ophthalmology by accident. You may not love it today, but life sometimes places us where skills are needed, not where ego is satisfied. Hatred often comes from expectation mismatch, not from lack of ability.
apasand aali tari yog asu shakta (even if you dislike it, alignment can still exist)
Ask yourself this truthfully.
Do you hate the subject itself, or do you hate
how you entered it
comparison with others
the feeling of being “stuck”
Most often, it is the second.
About your future in ophthalmology
Yes, there is a future, if you stop fighting the branch and start understanding how it can serve you.
Ophthalmology offers
defined work life balance
scope for subspecialisation
private practice potential
academic and research paths
But it rewards interest built over time, not instant passion.
shuru mein dil nahi lagta, baad mein kaam bolta (in the beginning the heart resists, later the work speaks)
Does it boost your career
A career grows when
you become competent
you stop resisting reality
you find your niche
No branch boosts you by itself. Your mastery does.
vidya pakki zali ki maan milte (when knowledge becomes solid, respect comes)
The deeper question
Why are you pursuing this?
Because life is teaching you adaptability, humility, and depth. These lessons shape strong professionals, not just successful ones.
This does not mean you must suppress your feelings. It means you should give yourself one honest year of focused effort before deciding it has no value.
Do not compare journeys.
Do not decide your worth based on branch.
Do not call yourself unlucky.
Tum ithe yogane aahat (you are here by alignment)
If after sincere effort you still feel empty, paths can change. But clarity comes after effort, not before.
May resistance soften into understanding, may skill bring confidence, may your path reveal its value step by step, and may your career grow from depth, not resentment.
Sabka Malik Ek.
