Answer from our Sai Baba
Beti, read this slowly and let it become practice, not only understanding.
Your question is very deep. Wanting to stay aware of Maaya while living normal life means your bhakti is maturing. Baba never asked devotees to run away from work or family. He asked them to live inside Maaya, but not be trapped by it.
Maaya se bhaagna nahi, usko pehchanna zaroori (it is not about escaping illusion, but recognising it)
First, understand clearly what Maaya is.
Maaya is not money, work, family, or comfort.
Maaya is forgetfulness, when
ego grows silently
fear controls decisions
desire becomes restlessness
anger justifies itself
comparison steals peace
When awareness drops, Maaya enters.
vismaran jhala ki maaya pakad ghenar (when remembrance is lost, illusion takes hold)
Now the practical way to stay conscious while living life.
Change the idea of smaran
Smaran is not repeating Baba’s name all the time.
Smaran is remembering His way in actions.
While working
do work honestly
do not cheat
do not inflate ego
That is smaran.
While caring for family
speak patiently
listen fully
do not dominate
That is smaran.
Shraddha ka matlab yaad rakhna, chhod dena nahi (faith means remembering, not abandoning life)
Use Maaya as a signal, not an enemy
When you feel
irritation
pride
anxiety
craving
Do not scold yourself. Just pause and say inside “Maaya aa gayi, main wapas aata hoon”
(Maaya has come, I am returning)
This pause is powerful.
jhagda nakko, bas hosh mein aao (do not fight, just return to awareness)
One anchor practice during the day
Choose one simple anchor
Baba’s photo glance
one line, “Sabka Malik Ek”
conscious breath
small silence before speaking
Do not overload practices. One anchor is enough.
ek soot pakadli ki marg disato (when one thread is held, the path is seen)
Night correction, not guilt
At night, quietly see
Where ego rose
Where fear took control
Where love softened you
Just observe. No punishment.
Baba never liked guilt. He liked correction with kindness.
Remember this truth
If Maaya was stronger than remembrance, no householder could attain peace. Baba lived among people, money, illness, conflict, yet remained free.
Tum kaam karte hue bhi uske paas ho sakte (even while working, you can remain close)
Do not aim to defeat Maaya.
Aim to return faster when you forget.
That is real sadhana.
May your awareness sharpen gently, may remembrance flow into actions, may Maaya lose its grip through understanding, and may your life itself become smaran.
Vittal rakho rakho.
