This experience is about an observation I had at school by my principal. I work as a teacher at a public school. I am very proud of my job and I like it. However, I get a little nervous about observations, as I am scored on them. This also impacts my promotion for next year. While I was preparing for this lesson, I was debating between two skills. I always have the habit of checking with my Baba, who is always with me, but then I thought I would decide by myself. Look at Baba’s leela. While I was reading absentmindedly through a devotee’s experience, one word flashed, and at that moment, someone reminded me that I should go with that skill for my lesson plan. I was so happy and relieved and knew that my observation would go really well. Nonetheless, I prepared very well, rehearsed the entire script, and prepared all the materials carefully. One thing I learned from this experience is that even if sometimes we decide not to consult our Baba, Baba makes sure that He provides help at the right time. This shows that He is a caring mother who knows the needs of His children and comes to their aid even when we think we can manage on our own.
I wanted to write about another experience. I have been telling my daughter to lose weight, but it seems to me that she has almost given up. She eats out a lot and has put on a lot of weight. She used to be an excellent dancer. These days, she spends time with friends who do not care about weight issues and eat out frequently. I had sent a prayer request to Baba and surrendered everything to Him, knowing that He is the master doer. Still, my small ego played its part, and I took the matter into my own hands. I got really annoyed with my daughter and said hurtful things to her. She hung up on me and did not talk to me for several days. This was a big lesson for me, and I was very sad about the whole situation. My daughter went and complained about me to my son, which pained me a lot. I forgave my daughter even though she never tried to call me or apologize. I started sending her messages, and she readily responded affectionately and began talking to me nicely. One day, she cried over the phone, and I realized that she was sad about hurting her mother and was sorry for it. I have come to realize that things happen for a reason, and Baba wanted me to learn lessons from them. We need to practice our Satcharitra.
Baba, I have been praying for years for something and have been waiting patiently all these years. Please grant an interview and acceptance from that school for my son’s residency program. Sai Ram. Please pray for my son. I will publish my experience once my son gets the interview and then the acceptance.
