Sai Baba’s Support During Job Loss and Family Crisis

Anonymous Shirdi Sai Baba Devotee from India says: A description of my journey as a devotee of Sai Baba

Om Sai Ram!!!

I am writing this note based on my experiences as an evolving Baba devotee.

As a Keralite, Sai Baba was not a huge influence for me when I was growing up. But I became aware of Baba through Amar Chitra Katha. Hence, I was aware about Shirdi, the Masjid and various miracles performed by Baba.

Baba came into my life through my wife. I remember the first incident she shared with me. My wife, who was a Kindergarten teacher, had been suffering from a headache for a few days. One day, a colleague at her school offered her some Udi, which she applied before taking a quick nap after the children had left for the day. Surprisingly, she woke up feeling refreshed, and her headache had completely disappeared. This experience marked the beginning of her journey as a Baba devotee, and today, she is a 100% devoted follower of Baba.

Initially, I used to scoff at her devotion to Baba, as I found it difficult to accept a person I had only read about in comics as a God. However, over time, my objections softened, and I gradually began accepting her faith in Baba.

In July 2019, I got a new job, and we moved to Bangalore. In December 2019, my wife, our son, and I visited Shirdi for the first time. It was an enjoyable trip, but I must admit that, for me, it was more about the experience of traveling rather than a spiritual journey.

At that time, my journey as a devotee was still in its infancy, but it was progressing steadily, influenced by my wife. There were no specific experiences to strengthen my faith, but I slowly started accepting Baba as God.

In March 2024, we visited Shirdi again, but this time, the experience was entirely different. On the first day, my wife wanted to attend the Shej Aarti, but we couldn’t get the tickets. Instead, we decided to attend the Aarti in the Masjid. That night, we joined other devotees and attended the Shej Aarti there.

The next morning, my wife wanted to wake up early and attend the Kakad Aarti in the Masjid. I decided to accompany her, and that day, we attended all four Aartis at the Masjid. It was a deeply soothing and fulfilling experience. Praying with other devotees during the Aarti brought me immense peace and joy.

On the following day, we attended the Kakad Aarti again, and while waiting for it to begin, I picked up the Sai Satcharitra that my wife was carrying and started reading it from a random page. Later that morning, we returned to Bangalore, but this trip had left a profound impact on me.

I believe that my experience of attending the Aartis in the Masjid somehow strengthened my faith in Baba. This happened just in time, as my life was about to take a difficult turn.

In May 2024, my manager called me and informed me that I was being made redundant. Fortunately, I was able to take this news calmly perhaps because I had sensed this day was coming, as the company was going through tough times. As a family, we stood by each other and supported one another during this trying period.

By Monday, I realized I had time on my hands, and in an effort to calm my mind, I started my first Parayan of the Sai Satcharitra. My wife joined me, and together, we completed the book over a period of five days. This brought us much-needed peace and stability in the days that followed. By that weekend, one of my former managers reached out to me and offered valuable advice on how to approach my job search. I followed his suggestions, and in the meantime, we decided to do another Parayan of the Satcharitra.

Soon, I was busy with job hunting. As expected, some of my former colleagues helped me with my search, while others did not even respond.

At the same time, we faced another concern paying my son’s school fees. He was about to start Twelfth Standard and was worried about whether he would be able to continue at his school. Fortunately, I had set aside some money in an FD for a family trip and had already purchased the tickets. Anticipating the company’s struggles, I had asked my wife to seek Baba’s guidance through a chit regarding whether we should opt for a refund on our flight tickets. Knowing about the job loss before the trip turned out to be a blessing, as we were able to redirect the money from the FD and the ticket refund to cover my son’s school and exam fees.

On my end, I continued my job search, but success was limited. While I did get interviews, my seniority and previous salary posed significant challenges in finalizing any offers. Additionally, given the larger economic scenario, there was a severe shortage of job opportunities.

In the meantime, I received an offer, but I decided not to pursue it, despite Baba’s guidance through the chit suggesting that I should take up the opportunity. I had my reasons for declining, and my wife also agreed with my decision.

In July 2024, we traveled to our native place to visit our parents. After spending time with my parents, we went to my wife’s house to meet her parents. While there, I received news that my father, who was a kidney patient, had been admitted to the hospital. I immediately returned to my hometown and joined my mother at the hospital.

Over the next few days, my father’s condition worsened, and he was at death’s door. The doctor advised that the only option was to transfer him to a super-specialty hospital in a town about 1.5 hours away. Without hesitation, we decided to proceed with the transfer, and the same night, my father was moved to the new hospital. The doctors there were able to stabilize him, and after a lengthy hospital stay, he was finally discharged and returned home by the end of August 2024.

In September 2024, I visited Shirdi and spent four days there. During my stay, I completed the Parayan of the Sai Satcharitra and attended all four Aartis in the Masjid daily. This experience calmed my mind, and I felt deeply connected with Baba. Those four days were truly blissful, filling me with immense peace and happiness.

After returning home, I found myself once again struggling with thoughts about my joblessness. However, with Baba’s grace and my wife’s support, I managed to pull myself out of that dark phase.

A few weeks later, my father had to be hospitalized again.

Seeing the hardships we had been facing over the past few weeks, someone suggested that we check our horoscope. Since we were not entirely convinced about astrology, my wife decided to seek Baba’s guidance. We placed a chit before Baba, one to ask if we should check our horoscope and another to seek Baba’s recommendation on an astrologer. Baba granted his approval and even guided us to the right astrologer.

This was truly a blessing from Baba.

When we checked our horoscope over two sittings, we discovered two major revelations first, we were going through a bad phase in life, and second, someone had performed black magic on me and my wife.

Two incidents completely convinced me about the astrologer and his predictions.

  • During the first sitting, without seeing my mother-in-law or knowing about her physical condition, he correctly stated that she needed knee surgery and even identified the exact knee that required the procedure. Since the beginning of the year, both my wife and I had been advising my mother-in-law to get the surgery.
  • The second incident occurred while my father was in the hospital. My wife tried to check the horoscope of our parents while I was at the hospital. As soon as the astrologer saw my father’s horoscope, he became agitated and immediately stopped, saying, “It’s late in the evening. Don’t think too much, just keep praying.” That very night, my father passed away.

After these two experiences, we were completely convinced of his guidance. Once the mourning period was over, we proceeded with the pujas he suggested. After the puja, he assured us that everything had gone well and predicted that I would secure a job within two months.

As soon as we returned home, I got an interview, but I was not convinced about the role. After checking with Baba (using chits), I communicated my concerns to the employer. At this point, I didn’t have any other options, and my wife was feeling disappointed. She has an app in which she asks questions to Baba, and when she did that, the response was that two more offerings had to be completed, and then I would get a job.

In December, I got another interview. After completing one round, we went to our native place, where I had to complete two offerings at the family temple. The very next day, I received a call for the next round, and by Tuesday, I had confirmation that I had been selected for the job. Although the role was less significant compared to my previous one, we decided to go ahead after consulting Baba using chits.

Finally, I accepted the job offer within two months of the puja, just as the astrologer predicted, as recommended by Baba.

There were many lessons that Baba showed me during these nine months: the astrologer who identified the black magic and suggested remedies, the guidance to move forward with the job opportunity, and even the delay in getting a job until January. The delay was a blessing because there were many things I needed to take care of after my father’s passing, which I wouldn’t have had the time for if I were employed. The job delay was Baba’s way of ensuring that I would be available to support my mother in arranging family affairs after my father’s passing.

My prayer to Baba is to continue guiding me and my family, helping us whenever needed in the future.

A Devotee’s Gratitude for Baba’s Blessings and Guidance

Anonymous Shirdi Sai Baba Devotee from India says: I’m a small devotee of Saibaba.

Baba my saviour. My day starts and ends with You, Baba. I was stuck in a very terrifying situation. I had done something I was not supposed to do, but I prayed to Baba, asking for His help. I said, “Please bless me and help me come out of this situation.”

Guess what? Yes, Baba did help me and made me come out of it, showering me with happiness and blessings.

I’m waiting for my long-term wishes to be fulfilled. Please, Baba, fulfill my wishes. You are everything to me.
