Sai Baba Miracle of Cancer Healing

Sairam, I have been blessed to share Baba’s leelas on this website and Mahaparayan blogs (twice). Though I have experienced many miracles of Baba, this one is very special and I wanted to share this with devotees around the world.

Last month, my mom had to undergo multiple CT scans as she was experiencing severe stomach pain and gastric issues. The scan results showed a cyst and multiple lesions. Doctors confirmed that it is cancer and that we don’t need to do any more tests. I was completely shattered; this is scary news for anyone to hear about their loved one. In my case, I felt it even more as I am far away from them, and I don’t have siblings. Moreover, my dad is a stroke patient and bedridden, and my mom is his primary caretaker. She cannot think of staying away from him for more than 10 minutes. I felt like my whole world had ended.

I kept praying to Baba, gathered courage, and immediately flew to India, leaving my family in the US (during a time when my kids also needed me). We decided to keep it a secret from her and not pursue any painful treatment. We chose to leave everything as is since we wanted her to be as healthy as possible and not go through any mental tensions.

I reached India on a Thursday, Baba’s day. I kept seeing multiple messages on social media that He was with us and no harm would happen to my family members. It may seem like a coincidence, but as Baba devotees, we know it is a Sai-incidence. I met with an oncologist, gastro specialist, etc., and one of our close uncles who is also a doctor said there is a possibility that it may not be malignant as there is a strong border around the cyst, which means there is no way that it could spread. This happened on Thursday too. This gave me so much hope, and we decided to do a biopsy; we took mom to the hospital and mentioned it was an endoscopy to remove the fluid. We did blood tests, and all the reports came back normal.

While in the hospital room, a doctor came from nowhere and held Amma’s hands and said, “Everything will be okay,” and to my surprise, I saw the nametag with “Sai.” I knew it was our Baba indicating that everything would be alright. By Sai Baba’s grace, the procedure went smoothly, and she did not have any discomfort.

In the meantime, I was able to arrange a full-time helper at home, a home nurse for Dad, and security cameras. Though I was trying to set all these up earlier, Mom was not agreeing. However, I was able to get these done during my short trip. I also came back to the US and was able to drop my older daughter off at college.

For the last month, I have been doing Sainaamjaap most of the time. While I was in India, I was able to go to the nearby Shiva temple every day (even there, I experienced many miracles) and asked many of our well-wishers to do group prayers. By Baba’s grace, her cytology and biopsy results came back negative and showed benign. I cannot explain how much relief it is and how everything turned around miraculously. I have seen numerous stories and miracles where Baba canceled cancer, and I strongly believe He did some magic.

Doctors may advise more tests to completely rule out the condition, but as we decided not to undergo any treatments, we are leaving it as is and completely surrendering to Baba. I am praying for her health and happiness and surrendering completely to His lotus feet. He is the doctor of our doctors. As in Sai Satcharitra, He raises a storm and then calms us down. Baba, please hold our hands always and never leave us.
