First I would like to thank Sai Baba for always being the guiding light. I would also like to thank Sai Yug Network and the Global Mahaparayan teams for their wonderful services to Baba and all devotees. May Baba bless you and your families always.

Today’s post is a continuation of earlier submitted experience. I request Baba to use me as an instrument and help narrate this beautiful experience of how all the work related to mortgage loan application, closing escrow and vacating current rental home, moving luggage to public storage and flying to India per original travel plan – all of it was timely and meticulously done in a short time of 15 days after our home offer was accepted With Baba’s blessings.

I live with my family in the Bay Area, California. In the Bay Area, USA, the home purchase process is very challenging. With Baba’s grace we got the home offer accepted in a miraculous way which was shared earlier. After the Home Offer is accepted (in our case, Home offer was made on Sri Yogini Ekadasi Day July 1st and offer was accepted on Tuesday July 2nd). The next stage is to submit a 3% down payment. This had to be done within a day or two. In our case, Thursday was a July 4th holiday in the US. So there was only one day given to make the payment and this was not even a full day. It had to be done by wire transfer which should be sent by 2 pm, to reach on the same day. I first went to a nearby Bank but it was very busy and the banker told me that there are no appointments and everyone is very busy. I called another Bank and with Baba’s grace the banker was available and helped me right away. I felt nervous with Wire transfer but the banker was very nice and confident. He told me tips to follow to safeguard from frauds e.g. calling the escrow manager to ensure all details on phone as sometimes emails can be a scam. I felt relieved after I got confirmation that the wire was received in an hour.

Now the next step was to find a bank who can give a home loan in such a short time. The banker who helped me with wire transfer, introduced me to a mortgage banker sometime back. I reached out to him and he confidently said that he will get my work done in 2 weeks. I took guidance from Baba about what to do as interest rates are pretty high and there was not much time to find more reasonable rates. Baba guided me to continue with the same person and also about the amount of the loan. The mortgage banker was super responsive and always available to answer my questions even in late evenings. He kept me updated about progress. He also added his team to help him speed up the work. They worked hard and reached out to me to collect all relevant documents for the loan application.

Meanwhile, in parallel, as part of the loan process, I needed to also get Home insurance. I tried calling one company but their office was busy. Some insurance companies have stopped issuing new policies in California due to high costs. By Baba’s grace, I was able to request home insurance at a reasonable price from the same company with whom we have auto insurance. Whole process turned out very smooth and finished in 30 minutes or so.

Baba also guided me to transfer money from various banks so that it can be used towards downpayment.

This process is time consuming and needs patience to ensure there is no error in transactions. Also these transactions can’t be done fully online, one needs to visit a bank and do it with a banker. With Baba’s blessings all these transactions went smoothly.

There was a fixed deposit (CD) which was maturing around July 13th, so I thought to wait to let it mature otherwise if it’s broken early, then the bank doesn’t give any interest money due to rules in the banks. After the CD matured on Saturday 13th July, I went to the bank to ask them to make funds available so I could transfer it for down payment. Due to some confusion with the banker and my stupidity and mistakes, I ended up with a cashier’s check on my name instead of doing a wire transfer. Cashier’s check process was slow and time consuming for my situation. I immediately apologised to Baba for my mistake and seeked guidance. I called my other banker and asked his advice. He gave me advice to go to the same bank on Monday and request them to do the wire transfer and take the cashier’s check back. I asked Baba and got advice to go to a different branch. I followed this advice and per Baba’s guidance, I was able to deposit the cashier’s check back into my account on Monday 07/15. Banker in this branch was very nice to work with. The next day Tuesday 07/16 got the wire transfer done. This gave me relief as all downpayment money was ready on my side.

Now at the next stage, I was waiting for the loan to be approved so that the Title company could get the loan documents and send a notary for the signing process. Our closing date of escrow was set to July 18 (Thursday, Baba’s day). On Tuesday July 16, all downpayment was arranged. On the same day, the loan was approved and documents were received by the Title Company. With Baba’s blessings, the Title company was flexible to send the notary to our home even in the late evening. They sent a Notary who was very nice to talk to. He explained to us the entire process in detail. Signing process went smoothly.

Now the next 2 days were very crucial. On Wednesday 07/17, a large amount of wire transfer was needed to be completed to pay all down payment. With Baba’s blessing this went smoothly too and finally all hurdles related to the home loan process and downpayment was over. After the down payment, the Bank also wired their loan money to the title company. On 07/18 Thursday finally got confirmation from the title company that officially now everything is completed. With Baba’s grace, we were blessed with a home on Thursday 07/18 Officially.

In parallel, a whole lot of other work related to vacating the home was going on. Baba guided us to vacate the home instead of paying 1 month rent unnecessarily. Since our home offer was accepted on July 2nd, we had our close friend’s family visiting during July 4th vacation. We were able to get good time spent with them despite all the busy schedule around. On Sunday July 7th, we started packing boxes. Our friends came over to help on the weekend and helped us at least pack more than 50% of boxes. The remaining days we kept working on packing a few boxes after work. Finally On Wednesday 07/17, in the evening we also got the movers to help us vacate our rental home. Movers were very professional and strong. They are Baba’s angels who work so hard. They moved all our luggage very smoothly and efficiently. Also with Baba’s blessings, movers came at 3 pm earlier than their scheduled window (4-6pm), this turned out good. It gave us free time in the evening on July 17th after 7 pm, the day on which all Home loan and payment was done. Baba pulled us to His darbar for His darshan so that we always cherish it when we look back. We got beautiful darshan on the special day when we got home.

On 07/18 Thursday, we also got our vacated home cleaned so that future tenants whenever they come, they can enter a clean home. Cleaning was almost 4-5 hours of work because we also need to show the homeowner that everything was nicely cleaned to his satisfaction. Cleaner is a very nice person who has been helping us with home cleaning for the past few months. She did amazing work. All family members also helped her to get home cleaned. Finally by 10 pm, we were done and handed over the keys.

Next day 07/19, we are ready to fly to India.

Baba, we are nothing without You. We don’t even want anything except You. This home is Your Bhiksha to us, this family and friends is Your Bhiksha.

Baba, please keep us always near to Your lotus feet and give us Shraddha and Saburi to follow Your teachings. If we have made any mistakes knowingly or unknowingly, please forgive us.
