Dear devotees, by Baba’s grace, many miracles have happened in the lives of my family in the past and almost all of them have been shared on this platform. Most of them by my wife who is an ardent bhakta of Baba and a few by me. I am going to narrate yet another miracle which even defies today’s medical science.

I live in the US and in 2016, I had a surgery performed by a team of neurosurgeons in collaboration with the ENT team in one of the top hospitals here but due to some complications, they had to redo the surgery in 5 days. Post surgery, I saw remarkable improvements in several parameters but one issue developed because of the two back to back surgeries and I was told that I have to live with this issue for the rest of my life. My pituitary gland was affected badly. The cortisol level in my body went down significantly and the endocrinologist, who treated me after the surgery, prescribed me medicine for this. Though I took it regularly, my cortisol level never increased. My doctor pronounced the verdict after I was on medication for more than two years that I have to take a cortisol boosting medicine for the rest of my life. As I was fated to take this medicine for ever, I saw no point in visiting this endocrinologist for periodic checkups and so I asked my primary healthcare provider to get the cortisol test done annually along with my annual physical tests and keep prescribing the same medicine, which he duly did. Year after year I kept taking the medicine but there was no improvement in the cortisol level. My body was not producing this important hormone and I was getting some of it from the medicine but that was way below the normal level. As a side effect of this medicine, my blood sugar level was rising and was always in the prediabetic zone. After taking this medicine for almost 6 years, in 2022, I requested my primary physician to refer me to another endocrinologist for a second opinion and he did. My new doctor looked at the history of my cortisol issue, the complication of the surgery, the elevated blood sugar level etc. and changed the medicine to a different one with the goal of just reducing blood sugar level and nothing else. He also said that apparently, I have to remain on medication for the rest of my life. In 2023, he reduced the dosage of the new medicine with the goal of reducing my dependence on this medicine, but he told me clearly that I have to continue with the medication.

My wife and I are ardent devotees of Baba and we both worship Him all the time. We are a part of the nitya (daily) parayana group and love to read a chapter each of the Sai Satcharitra every day. We are also a part of the global parayana group. We also do spatah parayan, Navguruvar, Panchguruvar and many other activities quite frequently and it always gives us a lot of happiness and reminds us that Baba is always with us. This thought is very comforting and reassuring. We read books written on Baba and my wife looks forward to the daily dose of Baba’s experience, published by Hetal Ji and her wonderful group, like a person looking forward to a sweet dish or like a chatak bird longing for the rainwater to quench its thirst. Many times, she reads the devotee experiences to me and I also wait eagerly to hear them from her. Every time we visit India, we look forward to our Shirdi pilgrimage to get the darshan of Baba. It is my wife who has magnified my love and devotion for Baba and He is now our family member. We share all our happiness and sorrow with Him on a daily basis as one does with his or her other family members. In essence, we feel the presence of Baba in our everyday life.

My wife also introduced me to Baba’s ‘Udi’ or sacred ash. She takes a pinch of it regularly by mouth and also puts it on her forehead when someone in the family is sick or has a test or has important work. For her, this is an unfailing remedy and solution for all the problems in life. I also developed this habit from her and even though I don’t remember the exact date and month, I do remember that I started taking Baba’s udi every day from some time in the year 2022. It has become a habit with me now to wash the feet of Baba’s small statue we have at our home and mix udi in it and drink it every day, asking for good health for everyone in the extended family.

In March this year (2024), when I went to my endocrinologist for my usual annual check-up, he suggested that though my body is not producing the cortisol hormone, we will try to reduce my dependence on the medicine further. He suggested that we do it after the annual test. I took the blood test that day expecting the result to show way below the normal level, as it has been doing all these years since 2016. I was stunned at the result when I saw the report next day! Was it a miracle! For the first time in 8 years, it showed the cortisol to be in the normal range! I couldn’t believe my eyes and thought it must be either a genuine mistake in testing or it might be the test result of someone else. However, as I had my annual physical with my family physician three weeks later, I requested him to also include the cortisol test to the other tests he normally prescribes. And when we got the result, the previous test result was vindicated and indeed my cortisol level was in the normal range! This meant that my body had started producing cortisol which two top endocrinologists in the US had said it will never do. This was like proving medical science wrong. I had no doubt about Who made this happen. I had heard and seen many miracles of Baba and some of them I had experienced myself before, but this was something which was difficult to believe. I have been taking Baba’s Udi mixed with His charanamrut for the last two years but never thought even in my dream that Baba will give me something that I never asked Him for as I never thought it possible that my body will ever produce this hormone. I merely asked for good health for myself and others. It shows Baba’s extraordinary kindness. If He wishes, He can give to His Bhaktas what they have not even asked for. Dear fellow devotees, if you have unflinching faith in Baba and pray to Him from the bottom of your hearts, He will make impossible possible. Have faith in Baba and believe in His dictum of ‘Shradha’ and ‘Saburi’ and all your heart’s desires, material or spiritual, will be fulfilled sooner or later. I am sure, this experience of mine will give hope and positive energy to all the devotees of Baba who get a chance to read this. I have no words to express my gratitude to Baba. I bow down at His lotus feet and do koti koti pranam. 🙏
